Andrew Lloyd Webber’s CATS, has been proclaimed the most popular
musical in the world.  Dubbed “the musical of the century”, CATS is a theatrical
phenomenon, holding the record as the longest running musical ever in London and New York.
Since opening in London in 1981, CATS has been seen by more than 65 million people worldwide. It was winner of the London Evening Standard Award and Olivier Award in 1981,
and gathered seven coveted Tony Awards on Broadway in 1983.

CATS is based on a series of poems by T. S. Eliot. The
magnificent stage set is a rubbish dump, three times larger than
life, where the Jellicle Cats have come out to play.
