Colonel George Washington, 22 years old, and his first command, was successful in capturing Fort Ligonier,
defeating the French, a decisive point of the French-Indian War. (1758)

Frank Lloyd Wright’s Fallingwater was completed, considered to be the most stunning of his achievements. (1935)
 He also built Kentuck Knob, another architectural marvel. (1954)

 Passengers of Flight 93 made their heroic last stand in the skies directly overhead in this area. ( 9/11/01)

 The Miracle Rescue at the Quecreek Mine, where 9 trapped miners were saved.  It was thought to be impossible. (07/02)
