The Henry Ford is a place like no other. It
is a place filled with once-in-a-life time experiences.
It consist of a Museum, Greenfield
Village, the Rouge factory and the Edsel Estate, but these only touch the surface of this
experience.
Also are a Model T ride, the world’s largest steam locomotive, the
Wright Brothers bicycle shop (where they made their first airplane)
Thomas Edison lab,
the actual bus that Rosa Parks rode, the limousine JFK was riding in that
dark day in November,1963, the chair that Abraham Lincoln was sitting in
when shot by
John Wilkes Booth, Henry Ford’s first home, and the list goes on of the exciting
things that you will be seeing.
Coming
to the Henry Ford is like stepping into a giant encyclopedia. The Henry Ford is
about history, but it’s about the future too!
All the activities of the Henry Ford are included with your tour. You will visit
the Museum, tour the Ford F-110 production facility, visit Greenfield Village,
and enjoy lunch using your $10.00 meal coupon. You can also visit Noah Webster and Robert
Frost homes, George Washington Carver's cabin,
a one room school, and many
other historic artifacts. Don’t pass up the opportunity to ride the Carousel
or take a tour
of the village in a Model T.
Another special attraction is
"Titanic, The
Artifact Exhibition". Timed to coincide with the 100th
anniversary of the horrific tragedy, the exhibit is
filled
with hundreds of genuine relics recovered from the Ship.
You will also visit the Edsel
and Eleanor Ford estate. Situated on the shores of Lake Superior, this is a
prime example of the eloquence of the rich
during this troubled time in history. You will see the
scale size Tudor playhouse that Henry Ford gave his granddaughter on her seventh
birthday,
see some of Edsel Ford’s favorite specially built cars, and marvel at
the original antique furnishings of the house.
An eloquent dinner is included while visiting
the mansion.
On our return to Indiana, we will make a special dinner stop at the Dutchman Essenhaus Restaurant.
The family style
dinner features
chicken and Swiss steak with all the trimmings, including a
delicious dessert.
