Quilt Gardens Tour

A Day full of Flowers and Shopping

August 3, 2012

Includes: Motorcoach transportation, Quilt Garden Tour with local Master Gardener, and Imperial Escort.
Departure: Lafayette at 7:00am. Pick-ups en route may be arranged.

The Quilt Gardens along the Heritage Trail joins quilting, gardening and art into a one-of-a-kind event.

The Quilt Garden Tour is made up of 18 official gardens with over 100,000 glorious blooms and 18 super-sized murals.
Each quilt garden has its own splendid pattern many are original designs, and each has its own unique story. Although we will not have time to
view all the sites today, we will see as many as time allows.  A local Master Gardener will be joining us for the day.

We’ll make a stop in Wakarusa, home of The Dime Store, where you will find their famous Jumbo Jelly Beans.

We’ll also have some free time for shopping at Linton’s Enchanted Garden Center, where you’ll find a variety of themed gardens including a
Japanese Tea House, Victorian House, Dutch Gardens and Grist Mill. They also have a 25,000 square foot gift emporium.

Lunch is on your own at The South Side Soda Shop, a retro diner featured on The Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives”. Their menu
includes diner favorites like “Philly” cheese steak and spiral fries washed down with a Green River phosphate. Maybe you’ll want to try a bowl of
their award winning chili, Guy Fieri’s favorite! They also feature homemade sandwiches, salads and desserts.
