We begin in the country with a visit toExplore over 12,000 trees featuring 26 varieties of apples via a tractor pulled wagon. Visit the Apple Barn for fresh-picked apples, raspberries, and peaches. Maybe try a fresh cider donut from their bakery. |
The next day we visit
Historic Woodstock Square,
listed on the National Register of
Historic Places.
Shop for locally grown and
produced items at their Farmers Market, shop stores around the brick paved
square, tour the 1889 Gothic-style
Woodstock Opera House, and the
1857 Old Courthouse Arts Center.
The 1993 movie Groundhog Day was
filmed here and you can follow a walking tour of the movie sites.
We’ll visit Grace Farm
Studios, producers of organically grown raspberries, raspberry sweets. Learn
about dehydrating fresh berries and
other summer goodies from a local homesteader. You can shop for
Icelandic and llama fleece, yarn, handmade wool rugs and apparel; fiber
art
quilts, and custom hardwood fiber art tools. Visit with Grace Farm's resident fiber
llama, "Gulliver," and watch a fiber artist spin yarn from
processed Icelandic wool or llama fiber. " Before we depart for home
we’ll spend some time in the Gardens of Woodstock.
The Gardens feature
several waterfalls and ponds. Stroll the meandering brick walks and patios complemented by lush colorful
landscaping.
You will find many new and unusual plants that they have sought out at unique
nurseries throughout the United States.
