Saturday – September 1, 2012          Indianapolis, IN > Rapid City, SD

Day #1   Our morning flight departs from the Indianapolis Airport.  We are headed to the  beautiful Black Hills for the holiday weekend.  Today we’ll enjoy some time in      Deadwood.  Long before the modern day gaming halls were built, Deadwood was known as a lawless town  run by infamous gamblers and gunslingers.  Bars, brothels and gaming halls made up this tiny town in the Black Hills of South Dakota that was home to legendary characters like Wild Bill  Hickok, Calamity Jane and Seth Bullock.
Not much has changed in Deadwood. It’s still a town wild at heart.

Sunday – September 2, 2012               Rapid City, SD

Day #2
This morning we begin at the Fort Hays Dances with Wolves film set for an  “All-You-Can-Eat” Cowboy Breakfast at their Chuckwagon.  We will then board the motorcoach for an incredible day of touring the Black Hills.  First stop is Mount Rushmore National Memorial.  Then we’ll wind over the Peter Norbeck National Scenic Byway as it takes us over Iron Mountain through scenic tunnels and pigtail bridges.  Next is Custer State Park where we’ll be on the lookout for wildlife like buffalo, burros,  antelope, elk, and Rocky Mountain bighorn sheep. We’ll make a stop at State Game Lodge, the presidential summer White House for former president Calvin Coolidge.  Lunch is on your own at the lodge.  You may want to try the buffalo soup!  After lunch, we continue through Custer State Park up Needles Highway, passing through scenic tunnels and by scenic overlooks.  A stop will be made at Sylvan Lake, a man-made lake located at the bottom of Harney Peak. We’ll continue  our travels  to Crazy Horse Mountain and Memorial.  The end of our tour will take us back to the Fort Hays Dances with Wolves Film Set for a Chuckwagon Supper  served    on a tin plate. After Supper, the Fort Hays Wranglers take the  stage for over an hour of music and comedy that will have your
toe tappin', foot stompin', and  your belly shakin' with good times.
