Columbus , In. is listed as one of the top 10 U.S. cities for Architectural Design. The Nov/Dec 2008 National Geographic Traveler ranks Columbus 11th on their list of historic destinations worldwide and writes, “a world-class collection of modern architecture by master architects . . . it is authentic, unique,
and unspoiled . . . this town is truly part of America’s architectural heritage.”

Our day will begin at the Visitors Center where we’ll view a great new video, exhibits, and Dale Chihuly’s “Yellow Neon Chandelier with Persians”.  A trained guide will join us for an Architectural Tour of this “Town like No Other”.  The tour will showcase both historic and contemporary buildings as well as
public art, interwoven with stories of the people instrumental in shaping our community.

Next, we’ve included lunch at Zaharakos Ice Cream Parlor and Museum.  This historic landmark originally opened in 1910 and became one of the finest ice cream parlors in America . Restoration began in 2007 and has returned Zaharakos to its early 1900 elegance.    Zaharakos has also returned musical delight to the menu with the restoration of its 1908 Welte orchestrion. This self-playing organ is designed to sound like an orchestra as it plays music from punched rolls of paper.

After a wonderful lunch and some time to enjoy the ambiance of Zaharakos, we are off to the Exit 76 Antique Mall.  This is a great place
to browse and shop for those unusual and hard-to-find items or unique gifts.  It features 600 booths full of everything from antiques and collectibles to modern artisan creations.  It is truly a collector’s dream!

Includes:  Roundtrip Motorcoach transportation, step on guide for Architectural tour of Columbus ,
lunch at Zaharakos including ice cream, shopping at the Exit 76 Antique Mall, taxes and Imperial Escort.
